What a child is able to create with a camera in hand?

This question gave us the impetus for creating the Young Filmmaker International Festival and the answer can be checked in this 2nd edition - from 8 to 12 of November/2011 in the city of Rio de Janeiro.

Thought and developed with focus on the future generation's view, the Festival presents films made by children and teenagers, from 8 to 17 years old, from Brazil and the world, through the National Competitive Exhibition and the International Competitive Exhibition, both divided into other two categories: films created by children and films created by teenagers.

The jury will consist of ten children from different social classes and backgrounds representing distinct regions of the State of Rio de Janeiro.

Besides the competing films, we'll have a non-competitive show, Young Filmmaker Non Competitive Exhibition - films made by students of the Film School Young Filmmaker, a project that has been running for two years with children from Rio de Janeiro.

During the Festival will be held the roundtable "Cinema for children and young people", the little roundtable "Lights, Camera and Action", by video conference involving children and young people from Brazil, Spain and Peru, and the Workshop Perspectives, taught by the festival's directors, and aimed at teachers from public and private education.

Aimed at children, teenagers, teachers, educators and other professionals who think and work with children, the festival aims to promote debate about the juvenile universe, discussing the current educational concepts and values within cultural diversity.

The Festival fulfills its role in giving voice to children and young people from different social classes and cultures, providing an exchange of experiences, information and thought.

We are waiting you for this second edition.
